Mesa Arizona is a sprawling greenbelt in the eastern section of the Valley of the Sun. Whether you're looking for small neighborhoods structured around family or wide open spaces for horses and pets, Mesa provides many options. The Mesa area offers over 25 golf courses, a variety of tennis facilities and numerous parks for family gatherings. The Mormon Temple is a major landmark, built in 1927 it attracts over one-half million visitors per year.
In Spanish a 'mesa' means 'table'. Mesa, Arizona rises above the banks of the Salt River and offers a variety of the natural desert plants and flowers mixed in with the lush green trees, lawns and gardens of residents and business.
Early settlers chose Mesa in 1877 for it's beautiful setting. It is surrounded by mountains to the north, east and south and beautiful sunsets over the valley floor to the west. It is within an hours drive of high country pines to the north and within ninety minutes of seven major desert lakes for fishing, camping and water-skiing.
The third largest city in Arizona with over 400,000 residents, Mesa offers museums, art galleries, performing arts, historical sites and shopping. It is the winter home of the Chicago Cubs and offers Cactus League Baseball on sunny spring afternoons.
