In 1877, a small immigrating group from Iowa founded the settlement that would become Buckeye, Arizona. A canal was built to create fertile agriculture land by the leader of that group, Thomas Clanton. He named the canal “Buckeye” in honor of his native state Ohio.
Located on the southwestern edge of Greater Phoenix, Buckeye has evolved from its agricultural roots to become a thriving suburban community with quiet neighborhoods and scenic views within small town ambiance.
